It has been three months since filming began and yet there were virtually no updates from City of Desire 欲望之城 until recently when it released stills of its ensemble cast in one go. The drama which is produced by New Classics Media stars Angelababy and Wu Xiu Bo and marks Angelababy’s second drama since giving birth as she had previously filmed Entrepreneurial Age opposite Huang Xuan. I don’t know why both seem so similar to me, one seems straight up romance while the other is a business drama or maybe it’s because each have a little bit of both.
Angelababy and Wu Xiu Bo may seem like an unlikely couple due to the large age gap – she’s 28 and he’s almost 50, but it works to the advantage of the story that’s about a divorcee meeting a young employee. Also in the cast are Ren Zhong, Zhu Zhu, Ni Hong Jie, Wang Yang, Wang Yi Zhe, Zhu Jia Qi, Ai Dai, Zhai Tianlin, Zhang Yan Yan and Joe Ma Tak Chung.
