Yang Mi and Huang Zitao kick butt on their first day as Negotiator breaks past 1.0% in ratings. It is only second to Mr. Right which just has a few episodes left before it ends and puts it in a good position to take over as the new ratings champion. The show seems to be doing quite well with the younger demographic which is expected given the popularity of both leads.

K9 Coming and Legend of Zu 2 are two more shows that premiered this week. K9 Coming seems stuck at a low 0.3% though it could be because its web broadcast already started airing as early as two weeks ago. Legend of Zu 2 is doing surprisingly better than expected considering that neither Zhao Li Ying nor William Chan returned or the sequel. On to web rankings, Mr. Right still leads though Yang Mi beats out Jin Dong as the new first placer in the weekly celeb rankings.

I started watching Nirvana in Fire 2 last week and it's very, very good so far! Now I'm actually invested in the show rather than a casual observer I'm very disappointed about the lacklustre ratings 🙁
Legend of Zu 2 is doing surprisingly well in the ratings! Maybe it's better than the original despite the lack of star names?

I'm happy that the Negotiator is doing well, because I wasn't too sure what to expect, considering the lack of promotion. I mean, as far as I know, the broadcasting news only came out last week and the drama started airing on Sunday, so the trailer and everything else came out in the span of only a few days (if we ignore the few stills from last year). I hope it continues doing well.

Wow are you far into the series where focus is more on little bro? How is it compared to NIF though? I think the fact that it is the sequel to such a great show is why I didn't get into it cause of the urge to keep comparing. Plus LHR seems so young, not that that's bad just so different compared to Mei Changsu.
Lol I don't remember that Zu 1 did that well either, so even if the leads came back.. I'm curious to check it out though:)

YM drama don’t usually promote a lot. I’m not sure about Interpreters but both tmopb and this only promoted a week before it’s air

@ Anne J: I know it's blasphemous in C-Drama world but I have to confess I could not get into the first Nirvana in Fire so I honestly was not expecting to like NIF 2 at all but I'm loving this so far.
I'm only on Episode 10 so not as much focus on little bro yet but the whole cast is excellent. Never thought I'd like Huang Xiaoming in a drama but he is doing a great job and I LOVE his and Tong Liya's onscreen relationship. I adore the whole House of Chang Lin. They are such a warm, loving supportive family that you rarely see in a historical drama.
I like how young LHR comes across because it's part of his characterisation and a plot point that he is smart and capable but immature and impulsive due to his personality and protection of his family but the storyline is clearly going to be about how he grows and matures. I think LHR is doing such a great job! I'm very impressed as I was worried he might be yet another young actor with a pretty face but no acting ability like most of the "fresh meat" actors but he's giving his character so much depth and is so likeable so far despite his brash, immature personality.
So far it is ticking every box for me: story, cinematography, costumes, score, directing and editing are superb. Well rounded, complex characters including some interesting, intelligent female characters. Great action and fight scenes.

Hey, you're only looking at the CSM52 (52 biggest cities)'s ratings rather than the national ratings – according to Baidu, Negotiator is actually #1… with 1.71% ratings

Yes, i know. Have gotten used to looking at CSM52 and haven't thought of making a separate table for Nationwide Ratings just yet.. maybe I'll put a note so that people know there are other metrics to look at. Either way, quite happy Negotiator is doing well.. love yang mi.

ahh that is blasphemous indeed haha And I still remember you didn't like TMOPB too! But you make NIF2 sound so good, I might have to watch it tonight:) Though to be honest, I still wonder how you couldn't get into NIF..
Sunny
It might just be my own personal preference as NIF2 appeals to one of my favourite tropes of the hero coming of age. Overall I just feel more invested in the characters and the romance.
You are very right I didn't like 3L3WTMOP. I had various issues with it but my biggest problem was the writing of the women: catty, petty, immature and man crazy. Their plotlines were chasing after men, crying over men, fighting over men or trying to steal a man and being jealous of our beautiful heroine. Meanwhile most of the men have storylines, motivations and friendships outside of their romances. I totally agree with a comment I saw elsewhere saying they think the author secretly hates women. The only likeable female character in the whole drama in my opinion was the Demon Princess, Yan Zhi, played by Dai Se. The rest of the ladies were a mess.

Do you happen to know where I could look up the national ratings? As in, the official numbers?
Anne J
Both CSM52 and Nationwide are official and run by same company. That said, you can try here, it has both metrics though Nationwide for episode 3/4 hasn't been updated yet:)

If possible, can you start posting the national ratings as well? That would be much appreciated, thanks 🙂
