As a talent of Tangren Entertainment, Gina Jin Chen has been in a number of their homegrown productions such as Monster Killer and Legend of the Nine Tails Fox. It’s a pity that she didn’t return for Monster Killer 2 and that there was even controversy over her casting in Martial Universe which didn’t push through. Perhaps it was due to trouble brewing early on as the actress was revealed to have requested to nullify her contract since August 2016. She filed a lawsuit against Tangren in March 2017 but the verdict ruled in the favor of Tangren. Despite her appeals, the verdict has remained unchanged which is why Tangren takes the opportunity to issue a statement to announce that they will respect the decision of the court and will continue to support Gina Jin in her career.

Ugh! I hate when companies do this. I have seen companies do this before and they kill actors' career. It doesn't help that I don't have a good impression of Tangren. I remember Lin GengXin also tried to nullify his contract and could only get out after paying a lot of money and they still made it really difficult for years.

Tangren sucks at promoting their artists! Idk if it's a problem with production but their artist's dramas are always shelved. Look at Hu Bingqing, Han Dongjun, Chen Yao, Jin Chen etc. It seems like they spent all their effort into pushing Nazha ever since Liu Shishi left.

I feel sorry for her. Now she's stuck with them and I doubt they are going to be very supportive towards her.

Tangren don't really have a good track record with their artists. First was Yuan Hong, Lin Geng Xin, Jiang Jinful, now Gina that asked to terminate their contracts.
The company lack fairness in promoting their artists. When they have a favorite, it seems like all resources go to that one person and all other are left in the dust.
