After 170 days of filming, The Way We Were 归去来 wrapped on December 6, 2017, which also happened to be leading lady Tang Yan’s birthday. Unlike most productions which typically end with cake, laughter and tears, this one celebrates the double occasion with a formal function wherein Tang Yan was presented with a giant birthday cake all to herself.
There was also a second cake to commemorate the last day of filming. Tang Yan can be seen cutting the cake with boyfriend Luo Jin, Director Liu Jiang, etc.
Six months of filming is longer than average and even though quantity does not equate to quality, it is evident that a lot of time and effort has been poured into the project. It must be bittersweet to work together for months and to have it all end in a day, and we see some some teary eyes in the crowd.
