First stills of New Horizon starring Joe Chen and Ryan Zheng

New Horizon 壮志高飞 is an upcoming Chinese drama starring Joe Chen (Love Actually), Ryan Zheng Kai (The Times We Had) and Zhu Zi Xiao (As Flowers Fade and Fly Across the Sky). As the pictures suggest, it’s the complete package when it comes to an aviation drama with characters that range from pilots to flight attendants. I don’t have a preference for the genre, but it is always interesting to see what happens at the airport albeit through rose-colored glass. The production team has gone the extra mile to go for realism as they’ve taken spare parts from a real plane and installed it into a makeshift model. It took the crew over eight months to make a ‘real plane’. Meanwhile, I’m loving the pilot uniforms and the cast looks simply snazzy. The drama has yet to be complete filming though it is expected to broadcast on Youku.
