Hu Jun in full costume as Xia Hou is the latest amidst the slow trickling of stills for the highly-anticipated drama adaptation of Ever Night 将夜, which is based on a novel written by Mao Ni 猫腻 who also wrote Fighter of the Destiny. The actor who played the main protagonist in the 2003 wuxia adaptation of Demi Gods and Semi-Devils and starred in blockbuster movies like the Red Cliff sports another mane of glory in true Hu Jun fashion that aptly compliments his manly appeal. As Xia Hou, he is a highly-skilled martial artist and the leader of the four great generals of Tang. He is a cunning and fearless character that can prove to be a formidable enemy for the young heroes.
The cast is an interesting mix of new blood and respected veterans as it includes Arthur Chen Feiyu, Song Yi Ren, Adam Cheng, Tong Yao, Chen Zhen, Yin Zhu Sheng, Hu Jun and Meng Zi Yi. Everything is looking like it’s made for movie-production quality though it’s actually tentatively slated to be a 75-episode drama.
