Miracles of the Namiya General Store was a best-selling Japanese novel written by Keigo Higashino. The novel sold incredibly well in China, describing the heart-warming story of how three orphaned youths provide advice to strangers through written letters. Mysteriously, the letters are written and sent through from the year 1980, and the three youths use their knowledge of the past 30 years in giving valuable advice.
The cast includes Karry Wang Jun Kai (lead singer of the Chinese boy group TFBOYS), Dilraba Dilmurat (The King’s Woman, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms), Dong Zi Jian, Qin Hao (Spring Fever), Li Hong Qi, Hao Lei, and Chen Duling (Operation Love). Hong Kong’s Emperor Motion Pictures and China’s Wanda Media had purchased the adaptation rights to the novel and are producing the movie.

The Japanese live-action adaptation is a commercial and critical success in its home country. It'll be interesting to see whether this version can at least match it or even surpass it.
