Lay Zhang Yixing was in Madame Tussauds Beijing yesterday for the unveiling of his wax figure. I swear, I had to do a double take to see whether I got the right picture or not because his doppleganger looks too lifelike. Lay hasn’t been able to participate in EXO’s most recent comeback, so it’s nice to at least see him craving out a decent career through other activities.
I’m still not so crazy about wax figures in general (they scare me a little), but getting a custom Madame Tussauds wax figure is like joining a club that not everyone gets to be in. Kris Wu got his way back in July 2015, standing tall and sharp in a suit at Madame Tussauds Shanghai. Luhan got his in January 2016, but it fell so far from the tree that I don’t have anything positive to say.
In case you’re planning to visit Madame Tussauds in China, keep in mind that they move around the wax figures quite a bit. ‘Lay’ is obviously going to be in Beijing for the time being, ‘Luhan’ just left (for repairs, maybe?) and ‘Kris’ is heading back to Shanghai soon. I wonder when Tao will get one too.

I hope Tao never gets one, unless the quality of those wax figures start improving. Luhan's figure is too far off, too ugly compared to the real person. I like Tao far too much to wish upon him the same fate.
