The astronomical success of Wolf Warriors 2 has resulted in much love for the cast led by Jacky Wu Jing and one person also enjoying the attention is Hans Zhang Han who played a supporting role in the movie as a self-absorbed fuerdai (second generation rich).
This is really old news, but the past years haven’t been too kind on him, what with his failed relationship with Zheng Shuang that people can’t seem to get over now that he’s with Gulnezer Bextiyar. For a time, I kept seeing negative articles about him with some spreading rumors that he was being a diva on the set of Wolf Warriors (it has since been dispelled).

Even worse is that the hallyu ban in China has people joking (to the truth) that the man just can’t seem to catch a break. He has four dramas that he personally starred and invested in – Braveness of the Ming, The Rhapsody of a Summer Dream, Gorgeous Workers and The Legendary Tycoon where he plays opposite Korean actresses Park Min Young, Go Jun Hee, Choo Ja Hyun and Goo Hye Sun respectively.

Given the Chinese ban on all things Korean, it’s no wonder that all four are on lockdown though there is hope for The Legendary Tycoon which tells a story inspired by the life of the late movie mogul Run Run Shaw. Perhaps the plot has saved the show because it has been designated by the government as a commemorative film for the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China.

It sounds like an ambitious story to tell though I’m a little worried about the final product that looks like it’s been put through the wringer and back. All traces of Goo Hye Sun has been removed to be replaced by Jia Qing, and it also seems like there will be greater focus on Joe Chen (initially listed as a guest star) and Song Yi.

I just went on to google him and dude has 7 dramas waiting to be aired. Wow. How does he find the time to film 7 in 2 years, and on top of that he has films as well.
C-actors are really so hardworking. I mostly follow K-ent and most actors film only one or at most two dramas per year.

ooh, i did not know it was 7. I remember that he also filmed Paris Is Not in a Good Mood so that makes 5, what are the other two? And yes, I imagine the 4 dramas took a lot of time to make, so it must hit hard when it wasn't allowed to air.

I don't know if Wikipedia is accurate but I see a drama titled falcon and another one called here to heart.

I think we discussed this over at avirtualvoyage once, and the consensus was that he did it to himself by putting Koreans in ALL his dramas. Like ok, one is fine but why put a Korean actress in all 4 of his dramas that he has a stake in and enough power to pick and choose whom he'd like? Like Song Yi is super talented, and needs the spotlight to shine but instead he picks goo Hyesun? She can't speak Chinese the dubbing won't match and on top of that she is a terrible actress.
I have no sympathy for him. He seems like a nice guy, and has said nothing but nice things about Zheng Shuang but if he's not going to support his fellow C-actresses then good riddance. The fact that they are all Korean is not a mistake. Just seems calculated to promote himself overseas. He's not that great of an actor either, just average so no loss for my screen
On the other hand his girlfriend Gulinazar is really, really bad but after watching her in Divas hit the road I just really find her irl persona charming. I wish she would find someone else!

"I think we discussed this over at avirtualvoyage once, and the consensus was that he did it to himself by putting Koreans in ALL his dramas." I beg to disagree. The term should have been in a few of his dramas.
I don't find anything wrong with reaching out to other actors/actresses. K-dramas are doing the same ie have gone to China too used Chinese actors/actresses.
It is just unfortunate that this happened and no one must have foreseen it.
On Hye Sun, are we talking of HyeSun of Boys Over Flowers?
Hopefully the ban would be eased and we can all start watching those dramas which were kept on hold.

Second this so much, I think Han tries to appeal to the overseas market by casting all those korean Actresses, I don't understand why he would cast hyesun, that girl can't act at all, hell, to the poing Angelababy's acting much more bearable than her. In the end it's all about hallyu, hallyu is already dead in Japan, I don't know if it's losing popularity in China but there's so many talented Chinese actresses that they can pick instead of Hyesun, etc.

Zhang Han was maybe trying to save money when he decided on using more south korea actresses and his plans were ruined by those weird china censors.

On same level of popularity, I doubt if Korean actresses would be cheaper to hire than the Chinese actresses.

I would guess that Jade Lovers (2017) of Zheng Shuang has also been banned bec of the south korea ban. All of these china dramas with korean actors and actresses sort of got tian an men massacred.

As I'm more into K-dramas, it was only recently that I've started watching C-dramas and so far Han Zhang left me with a good impression with his acting and all. Yes, I agree that Here to Heart was a good one and from there I started searching for other dramas he starred in. His Co-Star Janine Chan is a Taiwanese actress, and with both of them in one drama, it was definitely worth watching and highly recommended. I've even read that there were billions of viewers on its first few days of broadcast. If that's not proof enough I don't know what is.
On his personal life, best to keep that private and not be used to judge him as an actor.

When are Gorgeous Workers and Gentlemen Attention Please coming out?

It is an absurd political interference in art. Hans Zhang Han is an excellent actor, of course the acting depends on the partner, he was great in A love story: you are the greatest joy of my life, with Xu Lu, perfect chemistry. Already with Janine Chang it was very bad, she is a terrible actress.
