So the title sounds boring and nowhere nearly as badass as Wolf Warriors, but if it’s a drama that has gotten Hong Kong celeb royalty Leon Lai to sign on as the main lead after twenty over years away from the small screen, then that’s saying a lot. The supporting cast are understandably lesser known stars though the show also brings esteemed veteran actor Zhang Feng Yi onboard.
Overseas Security Officer 莫语者 takes the story of patriotism to the borders of Africa and revolves around a group of people dedicated to helping their countrymen. There are definitely parallels to be drawn with Jacky Wu Jing’s Wolf Warriors that has been dominating the box office as of late which further adds to the fervor for its closest drama counterpart. The series also stars Eleanor Lee, Yang Le, Zhong Luo Qian, etc.
