Sweet Combat 甜蜜暴击 is a 38-episode Chinese drama that packs a punch as it revolves around a group of young people who become friends through their shared passion for combat. It is headed by Luhan (Fighter of the Destiny), Guan Xiaotong (Novoland: The Castle in the Sky), Pei Zi Tian (The Taoism Grandmaster), Ivy Shao Yu Wei, Zhao Yue (Braveness of the Ming) and Li Meng Meng.

As the eldest daughter of the Fang Conglomerate, Fang Yu was raised to become the sole successor of the company, yet she goes against her family’s objections to pursue boxing and wins the championship title at the young age of 18. Ming Tian comes from a poor family. He once stopped schooling for three years in order to work and he decided to apply for a sports scholarship despite not having any background whatsoever. Fang Yu was one of the first to see his talents and their relationship grows over time.
Casting seems pretty much spot on for such a youthful premise and I can already see the efforts that Luhan and Guan Xiaotong have put into becoming their roles. Apparently, the two have been grabbing every opportunity to practice their moves whilst learning the script, and they certainly appear agile and athletic enough to be up to the challenge.
Update: lol, I wrote this a while back but the two have since become a reel-to-real couple. Now, I’m doubly curious to see how that chemistry translates onscreen.
Release Date: July 23, 2018 Hunan TV (two episodes daily at 7:30pm) and iQiYi, Youku, Mango TV and Tencent (episodes released at 11pm for VIP users)
