You may have heard by now that Once Upon A Time 三生三世十里桃花 will hit theaters a month later to premiere in August and accompanying the date change is a presscon held today, July 2 around 2:00 p.m. It’s smaller in scale compared to the last event wherein the entire cast was in attendance, but not any less entertaining as all eyes were on Crystal Liu and Yang Yang

Executive Producer Zhang Yi Bai was the first to take the stage. When asked about why he chose the film, he said, “I am moved by the unrelenting romance in the story. This everlasting love is the kind that transcends generations. We are obligated to translate these emotions onto the big screen.” Regarding Crystal Liu and Yang Yang, he described them using three lines, “CP (couple pairing) that matches three lives and three worlds; visuals to compare with ten miles of peach blossoms; the eight realms and four seas await.”

Once onstage, the two leads attempted to read lines as Bai Qian and Yehua, which quickly brought laughs when neither could keep a straight face (see video here and here). They also took selfies and played with the props to reenact iconic scenes like Bai Qian drowning her sorrows in wine and Yehua waiting underneath the Peach Blossoms Tree.

Although the mood was light and comedic throughout, a new trailer was released, which pretty much drives us straight into the angsty drama that makes this so heart-wrenching but oh so good. And then they sneak in a passionate kiss at 1:23, which they obviously had to use as a thumbnail too (catch it here).
