An Oriental Odyssey 盛唐幻夜 has released a batch of stills where we get a glimpse of a Journey to the West inspired story that begins after the death of Tan Sanzang. Janice Wu Qian (Fighter of the Destiny) deviates from her girly image to play the crime-solving heroine who oftentimes dresses as a man for convenience’ sake.

Zheng Ye Cheng (lET’s Shake It) attempts the role of a slave with a mysterious identity. Zhang Yu Jian (Ice Fantasy) plays the cool swordsman who fights on the side of justice. Dong Qi is the final member of the investigative team as the princess and she also forms the last leg to a complicated love square.

Liu Tian Zuo and Yuan Wenkang (Rookie Agent Rouge) play the two disciples of Tan Sanzang. The good guy and the bad guy may seem obvious at first glance when you compare a playful monk who’s seemingly there for comic relief and a diabolic teacher who has been on the run from the law for nineteen years, but there seems to be more to it than that.
The production is a collaboration between Huace Film & TV and Beijing Ziyou Ku Jing. It is directed by Chou Hsiao-Peng with a screenplay written by Miao Juan.

Yuan Wenkang was in Rookie Agent Rouge, not Sparrow. If that's actually him in the last picture — wow, now this drama really piques my interest!

Thanks for letting me know.. it's fixed and i knew it too so I don't know why I did that haha Same here, been missing Yuan Wenkang since Princess Jieyou. The pic looks dubious but I'm thinking it has to be him since he's part of the cast.
