This is a drama I’ve kept an eye on ever since the casting was announced, and I was elated to discover that Park Seo Joon would have a female lead who was closer to him in age – you can’t expect the poor guy to do noona romances forever. As far as pairings go, I’m beyond happy to see two stellar actors that look amazing together. I’m shedding tears of happiness because of all the pretty! The teasers also attest to the incredible chemistry Kim Ji Won has with Park Seo Joon so I’m genuinely excited to see their performance (frankly I don’t care how bad the writing is for this drama if it is bad, because the two of them make it all worth it!)

Fight My Way is about childhood friends, Ko Dong Man (Park Seo Joon) who dreams of being a Taekwondo athlete and Choi Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won) an aspiring TV anchor. Both of them work mundane, average jobs having to set their dreams aside because of their low specs. The drama focuses on poor backgrounds and lack of experience, and how it affects people when pursuing the career paths they desire – are dreams even possible if you don’t have the right background? It’s all about fighting your way through life to get what you want.

Of course, this is a drama that promises romance and plenty of laughs, with secondary characters Kim Joo Man (Ahn Jae Hong) and Baek Seol Hee (Song Ha Yoon) as a couple that’s friends with the bickering childhood pair, facing dents and difficulties in their relationship because of a lack of qualifications. My guess is it’ll be an issue of dating someone of ‘higher’ value, wanting to climb up a social ladder of status in order to form connections. And since they’re both of low specs or possibly of different backgrounds, it’ll be a tough journey for the two.

I really like the approach the drama is taking, and I can only hope it’ll strike an emotional chord with it’s realistic material and give me plenty of cute romantic and friendship moments. I’ve been looking forward to this too much to be left in the dust, disappointed. Fight My Way…fighting! That was a terrible pun, I know.
