On April 1, Taiwanese actor Jiro Wang posted a selfie taken with Gina Jin along with a lengthy caption, “Being apart for three days, you are still the person I dream of seeing everyday. This is our picture on the day we wrapped, if possible, I have had countless impulses to go to Xiang Shan to find you but I endured it. In this weibo, I don’t use @you because you won’t look carefully but I love you, loved you for three months until now, our destiny started the day I first met you…….”
If the date wasn’t a dead giveaway, the actor followed it up with a post the next day greeting everyone a Happy April Fools’ Day. The funny thing is it’s not the actor’s first time pulling the exact same prank.
Jiro Wang (Rakshasa Street) and Gina Jin (Legend of Nine Tails Fox) are the leads of Meng Fei Jia Dao 萌妃駕到, a Chinese historical epic that promises to be a different kind of palace drama with a lot of cheekiness. We get a glimpse of the atmosphere on the stars’ last day on set, and it is equally cheeky and chock-full of wacky poses, cake fights and wine.
The show wraps after 100 over days of filming in Wu Xi and Xiang Shan. It is directed by Zou Ji Cheng who also worked on New Water Margin, The Stand In and The Patriot Yue Fei. Costumes are designed by Chen Tong Xun who also worked on Legend of Zhen Huan, Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace and Legend of Miyue.
