Visiting the set of “The King’s Woman”

The King

With the Eternal Love mania still lingering, it seems like a good time to turn the spotlight on “Feng Jiu” Dilraba Dilmurat and “Li Jing” Vin Zhang Bin Bin who are in the thick off filming for The King’s Woman 丽姬传It is their third drama together and their first time as the main couple though rumors point to a possible fourth collaboration in the upcoming Liehuo Ruge

On March 2, the press met the cast in Hengdian, China. Dilraba Dilmurat plays the titular heroine whose experiences transform her from a a bright sunny girl to the king’s woman and she is accompanied by her three love lines played by Vin Zhang Bin Bin, Liu Chang (Novoland Castle in the Sky) and Li Qin

Dilraba and her three leading men
The series which is a historical wuxia follows a chaotic time during the Qin Dynasty. Zhang Bin Bin remarked that every single drama he’s in owes him a happy ending, so as unlikely as it may be, I’m crossing my fingers that he gets one this time around.

During her interview with Youku, Dilraba Dilmurat shares that the Director asked her to stand on a box stool to make up for the height difference, which was a bruise to her ego especially since she didn’t see any other ladies doing the same. She said that except for a few times, she didn’t really need to do anything extra when playing opposite Vengo Gao (who’s also really tall) in Eternal Love. She did say that Liu Chang is a male model and that the box helps her character look a lot less petite than she otherwise would have seemed.

** a lot of paraphrasing was used to translate the gist of the interview.
