We hardly talk about Hollywood here but I daresay we all have our favorites beyond the world of Asian dramas, so imagine my surprise at seeing Jing Tian (The Glory of Tang Dynasty) taking a selfie with the man himself, Tom Hiddleston. I only have the biggest crush on him but I digress.
Jing Tian walked the red carpet alongside her co-stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and Brie Larson for the premiere of Kong: Skull Island, a co-production between Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. She certainly didn’t seem out of place as the only Chinese celebrity, signing autographs and posing for photographs like a pro.
The film follows a team of scientists and Vietnam War soldiers who crash land on skull island and are forced to fight their way to survival. King Kong plays a colossal role as the movie’s namesake though the plot actually deviates from previous adaptations to bring the people into Kong’s natural habitat rather than the other way around.
Jing Tian portrays an unassuming biologist who is remarkable in her field, becoming an importance source of knowledge when it comes to understanding the creatures on the island. During an interview, she shared that Kong was the most that she has travelled for a film with shooting locations in Hawaii, Australia and Vietnam. After The Great Wall and now Kong, she also lands a role in the upcoming Pacific Rim 2.
