The first installment of Zhao Ge 朝歌 which tells a story inspired by the Investiture of the Gods has wrapped after five months of filming and post-production is expected to take another eight months.
Directors Li Da Chao, Ren Hai Yao and Liu Zhen Ming as well as the show’s main protagonists Zhang Zhe Han (Demon Girl) and Wu Jin Yan are the last ones to leave the set and they busted out the wine in celebration of the occasion.
I’ve been burned enough times by Yu Zheng to go from an optimistic fan to a skeptic so I don’t know how I feel about this drama just yet but leading lady Wu Jin Yan considers it a personal highlight and even wrote an essay (yes, an essay) to describe her experience and here’s a sneak peek of what she wrote.
She talks about meeting with Yu Zheng in Shanghai to talk about the role to officially signing on for the project to receiving the script and feeling for the first time Zhao Ge’s lush expansion in her imagination. She opens her eyes again and it’s been a month of filming in Xinjiang…
Regarding Zhao Ge, it has brought her two words – mei hao (goodness) and she places the goodness of it into the lives of her characters Su Da Ji, Hu Yao and Yua Hao to pass on to us.
