Full Love 周末父母 is a 44-episode Chinese drama depicting the realities of raising a family in today’s career-driven society starring Hawick Lau (Legend of the Jade Sword), Wang Ou (Nirvana in Fire), Zhang Meng (Ice Fantasy) and Zhu Yong Teng.
Yu Zhi Yuan and Zhao Jia Ni have been married for five years with a 3 year old son. They are weekend parents, working five days a week and leaving their son with the grandmother until they take him home for the weekend. The two eventually come to cherish the importance of being there for their child and they strive to make a better home.
Zhao Zhu Di and Shao Jie are the second pair of parents putting their daughter’s education above everything else with the mindset that she can never lose out in life.
This drama will air daily starting tomorrow and it will go head to head with Yang Mi’s Three Lives Three Worlds, which is awkward and a seemingly calculated move on the part of the broadcaster (at least that’s my theory).
For those who don’t know, there was a media frenzy over Hawick Lau allegedly cheating on his wife Yang Mi with Wang Ou during the filming of Legend of the Jade Sword. I’m only realizing belatedly that they have been playing a couple since Full Love.
Release Date: Feb. 12, 2017 on Hunan TV
