Yang Mi and Luhan Star in “The Witness,” A Remake of the Korean Movie “The Blin

The Witness Chinese movie

The Witness 我是证人 is a 2015 suspense thriller about two people who become the sole witnesses to a hit and run accident. Their accounts are surprisingly at odds with each other and it brings to light a complicated case that threatens to endanger their lives.

The Chinese movie is a remake of the 2011 Korean movie Blind and directed by Ahn Sang Hoon. It’s easy to see why a Korean director is onboard though it’s kind of funny that they played it safe to the point of hiring the same director from the original.

Yang Mi (Les Interpretes) portrays the role of witness number one, a blind woman who used to be a remarkable cadet in training for the police force. A car crash turns her life upside down as she loses her brother and her eyesight. Luhan (Fighter of the Destiny) portrays the role of witness number two, a physically agile young man with a sense of justice.

Release Date: Oct. 30, 2015 (also available on Dramafever starting Feb. 24, 2017)
