The cast for the upcoming TV adaptation of New Dragon Gate Inn 新龙门客栈 has been announced and it includes Ma Ke, Qi Wei and Shen Meng Chen. I say yes to another classic wuxia coming our way but oh noes.. I hear fantasy elements will be added?
As a fan of the old school, it bothers me whenever a wuxia is turned into a xianxia so I’m still hoping that what I read isn’t true. Regardless, expect a different kind of Dragon Gate Inn because in place of the familiar sand covered desert is an island, which also explains the concept used for the poster.
The cast is a looker as usual though I really only recognize Ma Ke who seems to be working the magic from Journey of Flower as he scores one costume drama after another. The remaining two ladies are a mystery but one of them sure looks a lot like Angelababy.
