The Monkey King 3: The Land of Many Perfumes 西游记之女儿国 is the third installment of the popular Monkey King movie franchise, which should be standard issue by now as it features yet another chapter taken from the pages of the classic tales of Journey to the West. I bet they’ll continue the movies for as long as they can and it’s hardly far-fetched to think that watching Monkey King may become a tradition for years to come every Lunar New Year.
This time around, the unconventional gang of monkey, pig, sand demon and monk make their way to the Kingdom of Women, a land where no men exists. Tang San Zang and Zhu Ba Jie accidentally drink a miraculous water that gets them pregnant and it is up to Wu Kong to save the day. Upon entering the Kingdom of Women, the Queen falls for Tan San Zang’s good looks and charm and wishes for him to become to stay and be her husband.
The cast is back starring Aaron Kwok, Feng Shao Feng, Xiao Shen Yang and Luo Zhong Qian while Zanilia Zhao Li Ying is the newest addition as the Queen.
