The Battle at the Dawn 黎明决战 is a 31-episode Chinese TV series starring Wang Qian Yuan and Cecilia Liu. The hype is undoubtedly around Cecilia Liu who follows a number of popular idols like Tiffany Tang Yan (Agent X), Hu Ge (Disguiser), Li Yi Feng (Sparrow), Zanilia Zhao (Rookie Agent Rouge) and Ying Er (Decoded) to attempt the spy thriller genre.
Set in 1946, the Communist party gains a stronghold in Harbin but the police force finds their authority facing imminent danger on all fronts with the Nationalists, Japanese, bandits and even common outlaws threatening to cause trouble. Cheng Qiang is the Harbin Police Chief struggling to maintain the peace under his jurisdiction. While in the midst of a dangerous investigation, he crosses paths with Song Hong Ling, a beautiful secret agent with her own mission to complete.
