Our prayers are finally answered as Monster Killer 无心法师第二部 secures a season two to embark on another thriller chapter in the journey of the undead hero. Tencent Penguin Pictures, Sohu and Tangren Media present the 20-episode web series that is once again based on the series of novels by Ni Luo 尼罗.
Season one was a surprising hit and I have nothing but the highest hopes for the sequel. Much of the original cast reprise their roles led by Elvis Han (Chinese Paladin 5), Sebrina Chen Yao (Beauty in the Closet), Ian Wang Yan Lin (Princess Agents) and Mike D’Angelo (My Little Princess). Li Lan Di also joins as the leading lady.
In the 1930’s, a person arrives at the Su Manor and requests to purchase a Song Dynasty antique. Master Su refuses and even destroys the antique as a show of his resolve. His daughter Su Tao picks up the pieces and discovers an exquisite copper mirror that will ignite a chain of events.
Wu Xin has found a new livelihood as a fortune teller on the streets. One day, he runs into Su Tao and they become travel companions. However, the androgynous Ding Xiao Mao barges into their lives uncharacteristically interested in the pair. He is the godson of a gangster and incredibly shrewd in spite of his young age.
Although Ye Qiluo is not explicitly mentioned in the plot, it sounds like we can expect her to resurface as her villainous self to be reprised by Sebrina Chen who will also be playing Ding Xiao Mao. The latter seems to be either a man or a woman dressed as a man, it’s hard to say for sure.

I am excited for this, although I am quite sad that Gin Chen will not be returning. i rather liked her character a lot.
